Bodo Schäfer – Kira and a dog named Money

Hello and Welcome over here!

In Germany, there will be children’s-Day in just about a week and because of that, I want to introduce you to a childs book that I love – even though it is not a classic book for children. There are no princesses in there who need to be saved and there are no princes to help them.

BUT, there is – which I find way more important, even though I still love tales – a useful and sweet story about a little girl who learns about how to earn money, keep it and multiply it. I think it is so important for us to have a healthy relationship to money. This book teaches us – not only children – how to save money and how to invest it.

My boyfriend introduced me to this book and we started reading it out loud to each other (because we don’t have kids, so we had to read it to each other).
The story is about Kira, a twelve year old girl, whose parents have always had money issues. One day, she gets to know a smart little Labrador who knows nearly everything about investments, fonds and so on and so on. Together with Kira’s friends, neighbors and family, we get to know about some tips and tricks how to multiply our money.
We should remember, that this books is officially a children book, but it is definitely worth reading for everyone.

And because of that, I’d like to recommend it to everyone, no matter the age. It was one of the sweetest and smartest books I’ve read this year. So go ahead!

Thank you so much for reading and until next time at the things we read!
